Bengt Soderbergh, Sweden, has a Master of Science in Business and Economics with International Specialization, including Russian language studies, and a Master of Science in Sociotechnical Systems Engineering from Uppsala University. Bengt Soderbergh has been working with Uppsala Hydrocarbon Depletion Study Group (UHDSG) since August 2004.
Since January 2006 Bengt Soderbergh is a PhD student at the Global Energy Systems Group at Uppsala University, and his research project is about the potential peak of global natural gas production and its implications for the energy security of the European Union. The project is done in collaboration with the Energy Delta Research Center of the University of Groningen and the Energy Delta Institute, Groningen. Bengt Soderbergh's research work is primarily focused on Russian natural gas production, global natural gas production, Canadian oil sands and short- and medium-term global oil production outlooks.
