Peter A. Dea is President, CEO and Founder of Cirque Resources LP, an exploration and production company. Mr. Dea was President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Western Gas Resources, Inc., Denver, Colorado from 2001 through 2006, until their merger with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. He was Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Barrett Resources Corporation until the sale of Barrett in August 2001. He had held several other geologic and executive positions at Barrett since 1993 including Executive Vice President - Exploration. Prior to joining Barrett, Mr. Dea held various management and geologic positions for Exxon Company USA. Mr. Dea has 26 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. In addition to receiving geology degrees from the University of Montana, MS, and Western State College, BA, Mr. Dea also attended the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program.
Mr. Dea serves on the Board of Trustees for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science (Chairman), Western State College of Colorado, Alliance for Choice in Education and the American Geological Institute Foundation. Mr. Dea served on the Board of the Colorado Oil & Gas Association, 1995-2006, where he served as President in 2001 and serves on the Board of Directors for the Independent Petroleum Association of Mountain States.
